FAQ

1. When do I get my pre-course kit?

Your pre-course kit will arrive on your doorstep about one month before the hands-on course. Around the same time, you will be able to access the online pre-course.

2. How do I access the pre-course online?

Click here to learn how to access the virtual course. To make the most of your educational experience, you must complete this virtual course and the hands-on exercises before the in-person course.

Note: You will have access to the online pre-course for six months after the in-person course concludes if you want to review the material later.

3. How many extracted teeth do I need to bring?

We provide 18 TrueTooth 3D printed replica teeth as part -of your pre-course kit. TrueTooth replicas feel like real teeth, but they are slightly softer than dentin. Dr. Buchanan recommends beginners use TrueTooth because if you are able to treat a TrueTooth without perforating or ledging, chances are you will never perf or ledge in a real tooth!

If you feel you are more advanced and require additional teeth or practice in extracted teeth, feel free to bring as many as you'd like.

4. If I bring extracted teeth, how do I pack them for air travel?

Keep the extracted teeth in a jar of water until the day of your departure. The day of your flight, remove the teeth from the jar of water and wrap them in a damp paper towel inside of a small (snack- or sandwich-size) Ziploc bag. Be careful not to add so much water that there is standing liquid. Pack the bag in your carry-on or checked bag for travel.

5. What airport should I fly into?

We recommend Santa Barbara Airport (SBA), which is about 5 miles from DEL. Los Angeles Airport (LAX) is about 2 hours from DEL without traffic. Keep in mind that you are very likely to encounter traffic.

Flights into/out of SBA are generally $200 more expensive than into/out of LAX.
